Smeaton is a village in the Central Highlands of Victoria. Gold was discovered here in 1851 and the gold of the autumn leaves reminds me of the gold taken from the ground here. The bridge in the painting crosses Birch Creek and leads to Anderson's Mill, an historic flour mill on the banks of the creek.
The autumn tones would suit a dark, neutral toned wall and make the colours really pop or a lighter neutral toned wall of a living space.
