Artwork Description

This painting is part of my ongoing 'Cafés of Melbourne' series. My work is heavily influenced by local architecture.

The artwork is an exploration of the dynamic relationship between buildings and my experience of it. It is a celebration of the ordinary and the mundane everyday scene, creating a sense of nostalgia.

Artist Bio

Born and raised in India, I was brought up in a family deeply rooted in arts and culture. Originally a graphic designer, I am currently based in Flemington where I often visit local cafes to draw inspiration for work.

Having worked in various mediums, I now create artwork on my iPad using an app called Procreate. My work is a celebration of an everyday scene where the common denominators are trees and buildings in an urban setting. The vibrant, decluttered paintings have a painterly quality where I explores the contrast between the old and the contemporary, ornate with minimalistic and traditional with digital.
