Last spring, October I think it was, I visited a peony farm in Monbulk, Victoria, close to where I live. The peonies were spectacular of course and I took many photos, one of which was the reference for this painting. The peony flower can be daunting to paint but this one is a simpler format and I found it most enjoyable to capture it's twists & turns, shades and colours. I hope this painting gives as much pleasure to those who view it.
Framed in a natural timber floating frame, sides of canvas are painted black for an even shadow-line within the frame.
