Alejandra

"Alejandra" is based and inspired by womens in their homes just spending time by themselves after getting home from work, on a lazy Sunday morning or in a rainy day. I was also inspired by plants, specially the ones I have inside my home as they add a bit of green and happiness to the place so I tried to include them in my paintings as well.

For this painting I prepare the canvas with gesso, acrylics as the colour base and added some details with chalk and oil pastels.

I did a Bachelor of Illustration about eight years ago as I grew up between colouring books, coloured pencils, markers, watercolours and other material that my parents used to give me all the time when I was a child and I always loved the illustrations on the children's books that I had so I wanted to become a children's book illustrator and I have been working as a freelance ever since.

I was also always intrigued by oils so about five years ago I started to experiment with oils and acrylics and I feel in love. As I'm still learning , I tend to jump between different styles and techniques but I mostly paint portraits of people mixed with a bit of abstract, nature and just thingy that comes from my imagination.
