Artwork Description

Description:
Atmospheric abstract landscape blending geometric forms with tidal movement and soft coastal light. Two tall vertical shapes rise from the lower half of the composition, reflected into a watery surface below. A pale circular form — sun or moon — hovers in the upper sky, connected by a fine line to small triangular flags that introduce a quiet sense of symbolism. Muted blues, whites, and sandy tones create a dreamlike interplay between structure and nature. Organic circular patterns in the lower section evoke rocks, shells, or tidal pools, giving the piece a grounded, estuarine feel.

Inspiration:
Inspired by the Shoalhaven’s tidal flats and the way structures — pylons, markers, old posts — become part of the landscape as the water rises and falls. The work draws on the quiet mythology of the coast: markers as guardians, the moon as a tide‑keeper, and reflections as thresholds between worlds. Layered textures echo the shifting surfaces of sand, water, and sky.

How it enhances a room:
Adds a sense of depth and quiet mystery; softens contemporary interiors with its muted palette; introduces a subtle narrative element without overpowering a space; works beautifully in living rooms, bedrooms, and entryways where a calm, reflective mood is desired.
