Artwork Description

I have repeated this saying before but.
Picasso once said "that it took him a lifetime to learn how to paint like a child "

Not that I am a Picasso, but.
My problem is, I am a 70 year old child that never learned to paint like an adult.

I seriously tried to paint this one in the style of a child. For me that was not hard.
Children have a free uninhibited careless approach to painting. As if in the end it did not matter how it turned out.
Well it took me several days and much thought, to finish this painting. Silly as that might sound.

I was after a bright, playful and free swirling abstract of a child's making. I have several grandchildren and this is what I see in their paintings. There is nothing like being taught by the best!!!!!

This painting is 122 cm wide and 91 cm high and 4 cm deep. It weighs 2.5 Kgs. It is finished in a gloss varnish that enhances the colour and protects the paint.

On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushions to protect your walls.

Artist Bio

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette.

His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character.

As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary , however he also uses various acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes.

Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him and his family. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques, which will continue to enhance his future works. His art works are all original.

Every one of Patrick's paintings has a special story attached to it, and they are all very personal to him. Patrick's art has been sold to collectors internationally and nationally.
