Artwork Description

Every one of my artworks has a story. If you have read some of my other descriptive stories, I am sure you will agree they are different to other artists descriptions.

O K here we go. This is the TRUTH. This painting / sculpture was made in 2006. At that time I was a Property Developer. (please don't laugh it is still the truth )
So on this day I was in my Garage/studio working on a piece of art, when the phone rang and it was a client wanting to buy one of my properties.

Now with this style of art I prepare the canvas and then put a thick layer of plaster evenly over the canvas , and then sculpt it to the desired shape before the plaster sets hard. When it is dried I paint it with acrylics.

The story continues ------ The client on the phone wanted to know specifics about a property which was going to take a lot of time. So before the plaster went hard and while I was talking, I saw a colour chart on the desk and started doodling with a spatula.
By the end of the phone call I had subconsciously made what looked like a COLOUR CHART. Hence the name. All I had to do was paint it.

By the way , he bought the property.

This painting is 100 cm wide and 75 cm high and is 4 cm deep. It weighs nearly 3.5 Kg.
Behind the stretcher bars on the back I have glued blocks that help stabilize the plaster on the canvas.

This piece has hung in my snooker room, since being made and as I am not getting any younger I
think it is time it went to another loving home.

On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushions to protect your walls.

It does not need a frame as the edges are fully painted.

Artist Bio

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette.

His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character.

As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary , however he also uses various acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes.

Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him and his family. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques, which will continue to enhance his future works. His art works are all original.

Every one of Patrick's paintings has a special story attached to it, and they are all very personal to him. Patrick's art has been sold to collectors internationally and nationally.
