Flora Australis

The weather has been terrible lately with constant rain for the last six months, nearly the end of winter. No fishing, no gardening, more rain and stuck inside!!!
So the only thing to do is paint and think of spring and all the flowers in bloom. That honestly was the influence and motivation to paint this piece.
This painting is produced using a variety of palette knifes. Some dobbing, some scraping and some squashing a piece of wool and dragging it gently. All fun.
One of my favourite palette knives is one I made myself by cutting down a Chinese plastic soup spoon. It truly works a treat.

Now this style of painting is not my usual crazy abstract style, but my wife said it was very pretty so I must be doing something right ( for a change ).

The painting is 122 cm wide 91 cm high and 4 cm deep. It weighs 2,5 Kgs.
It is finished in a high gloss varnish that enhances the colour and protects the paint.

On the back is a signed Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushions to protect your walls.

Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him and his family. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques, which will continue to enhance his future works. His art works are all original.

Every one of Patrick's paintings has a special story attached to it, and they are all very personal to him. Patrick's art has been sold to collectors internationally and nationally.
