Artwork Description

"MYSTICAL SCALES"

If you have seen any of my other works you will realise that there is a story behind every artworks.

Again, being an old builder I make the frames myself only using quality marine plywood for the surface and a sturdy pine frame for support.
I need this combination for my heavy textured works as it is strong and durable. And I enjoy using my carpentry skills.

Now the art it's self.
Well I have a beautiful 10 year old granddaughter ( Aurora ) who is interested in all my works.
As I am an avid fisherman with several other works relating to fish ( mostly hidden away ).
Well, Aurora gave me the idea to produce this piece. and see named it Mystical Scales. How can I refuse a beautiful 10 year old granddaughter naming one of my works. It means a lot to her.

This artwork is 122 cm wide and 80.5 cm high and 5 cm deep. It weights 9.5 Kgs It is wired ready to hang. There are three coats of satin varnish which enhances the colour and protects the paint.

On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity and has felt cushion to protect your walls.

Artist Bio

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette.

His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character.

As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary , however he also uses various acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes.

Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him and his family. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques, which will continue to enhance his future works. His art works are all original.

Every one of Patrick's paintings has a special story attached to it, and they are all very personal to him. Patrick's art has been sold to collectors internationally and nationally.
