Artwork Description

This is a portrait that captures a generational gesture—playful, self-aware, slightly rebellious—while simultaneously elevating it through painterly craft. The painting is not simply documenting a selfie of a beautiful young woman, it is interrogating the aesthetics of self-performance. It transforms a fleeting digital moment into something permanent, tactile, and expressive.

Artist Bio

Paul Crowe, born 1967, Brisbane.

Painter.

I've been spray-painting commercially since 1985. It's been cars in the auto industry....large Superyachts in the marine industry.....and a bunch of other things in the in-between industry's.

I've been painting artistically, since 1995.

I was first drawn to the brush by artists such as Van Gough, Monet, Matisse, Bacon, Whiteley........

Paint in some shape or form, has played a major part in my life.....and in more recent times, I've given my flash at best expressing artistically, how this life force affects me. The process continues to evolve, but the experience is gratifying and the results give me encouragement to continue.

Through the responsibilities and drudgery of life's firm grip, I've re-emerged...... and found that a light has still been left on for me.
