Clouds Over 92

Big, cumulus clouds are some of my favourite clouds, especially when they take on the quality of the light boucning through them, making for lovely light blue shadows.

During covid we all became quite familiar with the views from where we live - this painting is the view from where I was living at the time, out the back door and looking left. There was always something about the way the backs of the houses overlapped.

The piece was painted in 2022, and is varnished with Gamblin Gamvar Gloss Varnish.

“I love observing light, its various effects, and the way our perception affects how we think of what we see. When I paint, I seek to explore this through landscape paintings featuring dramatic skies, and strong light and shadow, and often use these to highlight the everyday things we see as we go about our lives.”

Paul grew up in South-West Sydney in a family who values creative activities like music and art; and subsequently did a lot of both throughout his formative years. He now works full time as a 3D Artist for a video game studio in Sydney.
Although he seeks to paint as often as he is able.
