Artwork Description

Oil on canvas, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This artwork comes with an external frame

Tall gums tower above dry grasses in the back paddocks behind the suburb of Kearns, the view stretching out toward the hills of Gledswood.
This was the first oil painting I painted en plein air; what a thrilling experience. The freedom to find a spot you like, setting up while battling the wind, and the rush of trying to get the painting down as the light changes and fades. There is a spontaneity gained from this kind of pressure - a good pressure.

Artwork currently in the process of being varnished and framed, hence delayed dispatch.

In Iceland, mountains rise out of the mist in the distance behind a turquoise river flowing through plains covered with red, orange, and ochre scrubby bushes.Streetlights have just turned on as the light has become dim and rainclouds roll in at dusk, creating a dark blue and gray sky. The road fence is illuminated bright yellow by the lights. At dusk a sandy path leads through the scrub and trees down toward the beach, with the ocean in the distance and sunset clouds on the horizon.Light of the morning sunrise breaking through dark clouds reflects off the water of the bay while the land is still dark
