Artwork Description

On a trip to Tasmania in early 2022 we happened upon this little church down the end of this picturesque lane in Hagley, on the way back to Launceston.
The church is St Mary's Anglican Church, the grounds of which are very pretty.
We visited Tasmania in mid-late summer, so there were a lot of dry, yellow grasses about, contrasting the green fields.

The piece was painted in 2022 and is varnished with Gamblin Gamvar Gloss Varnish.
The painting is set in a natural finish Tasmanian Oak floater frame, lovingly handmade by the artist himself.

Artist Bio

“I love observing light, its various effects, and the way our perception affects how we think of what we see. When I paint, I seek to explore this through landscape paintings featuring dramatic skies, and strong light and shadow, and often use these to highlight the everyday things we see as we go about our lives.”

Paul grew up in South-West Sydney in a family who values creative activities like music and art; and subsequently did a lot of both throughout his formative years. He now works full time as a 3D Artist for a video game studio in Sydney.
Although he seeks to paint as often as he is able.
