Artwork Description

Watercolour on cardboard, ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This artwork comes with an external frame

I specifically chose to place this female Snowy Owl on a cold and dark background so the viewer can get a sense of the harsh North American environment where these magnificent birds of prey live. I purposely turned her head to signify the ability of an owl to use superior hearing to pin-point its prey and attack unsuspecting prey.

Owls are probably my favourite birds to paint. Their faces have so much character with wise and quite human features. Although I'm told they may not be as wise as they look based on the size of their brain cavity.
