Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This elegant bird was painted in a preening position to show the ease of which a heron of this type can use his graceful neck to get into the bulk of his feathers. The water drops are an extra feature. I watched this Heron sitting on a river bank and was amazed at the different positions he portrayed. I painted him in this position to show the structure of his neck and the way he could bend it around. To make him stand out more I painted the dark background with just a touch of light at the base.
