The painting Wish You Were Here is part of the artist’s 500 Series, where he explores imaginative landscapes created entirely from his mind. Each piece in the series captures a vision of a beautiful, dreamlike setting, inspired by past visits to gardens or influenced by imagery encountered on social media. However, the artist challenges himself by avoiding photo references, constructing each scene from scratch. This creative process requires careful attention to color, depth, and perspective to achieve a balanced and harmonious composition. In this work, KQUDAH embraces a more fluid and expressive approach, allowing his brushstrokes to flow naturally. He deliberately incorporates vibrant, saturated colors to evoke joy and positivity, immersing viewers in a visually uplifting experience.

The title Wish You Were Here carries a deep sense of longing and nostalgia. It suggests a connection to someone who is absent, whether physically or emotionally, and invites the viewer to reflect on moments shared with loved ones. The phrase is often associated with fond memories, distance, and the desire to share beauty with another. In the context of the painting, the landscape itself may symbolize a place of solace or escape—somewhere peaceful and beautiful, yet incomplete without the presence of a particular person. It evokes a feeling of warmth and wistfulness, making the artwork not just a visual experience but an emotional one as well.

IMPORTANT
The painting is created on unstretched linen and is sold unframed, rolled in a tube for safe transport. It is finished with Gamblin Gamvar Satin varnish, which enhances the colors while providing a subtle, low-gloss finish and an added layer of protection.

The linen is triple-primed with high-quality gesso, followed by a layer of GAC100, offering extra protection against Support Induced Discoloration (SID).

Color variations. The artist strive to capture the colors and details of his paintings as accurately as possible in the photos. However, slight variations in color may occur due to differences in screen displays and lighting conditions.

A 2.5-inch white border is included on all sides of the painting to allow for proper stretching of the artwork.

The artist strongly suggests framing the artwork, as it enhances its quality, impact, and overall viewing experience when displayed on a wall. A beautiful painting stands out on its own, but pairing it with a well-chosen frame elevates it to an entirely new level.

KQUDAH is an Australian multi-disciplinary artist whose work spans contemporary realism, abstract expressionism, monochrome visuals, graffiti-inspired pieces, and digital pop art. He has always identified simply as an artist, believing that creatives should not be confined to a single style or category.

“When I create, I do so with intent and a clear vision of the final piece. I allow myself to express what’s within—whether through realism, abstraction, or even a simple scribble of pen lines. What matters most is that my art speaks honestly to me.”

KQUDAH works with a variety of mediums, primarily oil, acrylic, and spray paint for his traditional artworks. He also explores digital art, using Procreate, Blender, and Nomad Sculpt to refine compositions before painting. Drawing from diverse influences—ranging from Japanese art to Impressionism—he fluidly shifts between styles while maintaining a minimalist approach to tools and color palettes. His creative process begins with an impression, which he enhances with diagonals and curves to evoke movement, carefully balancing value and tone to achieve harmony.

His artistic journey started at the age of seven with sketching and freehand drawing, transitioning seamlessly from pencil to pastel. However, in 2002, the moment he placed his first brushstroke in oil paint, he was captivated—setting him on a lifelong pursuit of mastering the medium. As a teenager, he immersed himself in fine art and design books, further shaping his aesthetic sensibilities. Ever since, he has remained dedicated to capturing moments in art, creating works that resonate with collectors and art enthusiasts alike.
