Artwork Description

Creating ‘Through the Camera's Lens’ allowed me to play with light and dark to bring an organic perspective to a very precise piece of technology.
I spend my down time taking macro photographs of small Western Australian native plants and flowers, and I was inspired to create this painting combining my love of photography and nature to create something unexpected.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and I hope this artwork will bring the same enjoyment to you as it has to me while creating it.

I added delicate flowing texture to the white sections of this painting using modelling paste, and flat black areas to provide the maximum contrast I could.

The artwork has been continued around the sides of the canvas, to provide impact from every side.

Artwork is satin varnished on a stretched artist quality canvas with an internal wooden frame.

Signed on the front with a certificate of authenticity.

This painting will be packaged securely in thick walled cartons using protective layering.

Feel free to contact me should you require any extra imagery of this piece.

Custom works are available upon request.

Artist Bio

I was very lucky to grow up in a creative home. My mother and I experimented with most crafts and we had such fun pottering away together. I started painting at 15.

Growing up on a stud sheep farm in South Africa was amazing, I spent my late teens in green New Zealand, and have been living in vast and beautiful Western Australia, with my husband for the last 15 years.

At university I studied geology and biology, and these have have influenced my art through the years. Especially interpretation, textures and structures encountered in geology.

My husband and family love the Western Australian outback and hike and camp whenever we can. My main hobby is macro-photography of native Western Australian flowering fauna on our adventures. The gorgeous tiny flowers and orchids are truly under appreciated.

I paint in most genres of art, though mostly centred around acrylics. My styles seem to morph into their own creatures at different times of my life.

Currently I am feeling quite free, creating mostly black and white abstract acrylic artworks with light texturing.
