In Search of Coffee

Any Melbournite would have been to the iconic Degraves Street for a coffee in one of its many cafes. The perfect stopping point during a busy day in the city. I love the activity, the smells and the colours. Long live Cafe culture!

Paula Maggs is an expressionist artist living and working in Melbourne. Her intuitive painting style conveys intense emotional states through colour and gestural mark making.
Maggs seeks to utilize the materiality of the paint to express psychological states. Her underlying concern is to dig beneath the facade of what it means to be human.
She completed a Master of Fine Art (with distinction) at RMIT in 2023.
Maggs has exhibited in both group and solo shows around Melbourne, as well as participating in a residency for Melbourne Fashion Week in 2021.
Previous study includes a Bachelor of Design Arts (with distinction) in 2021 from LCI Melbourne.
