Pauline Chrisanthou Artist 2016I had been involved in business ownership and the training industry for some years which gave me little time to devote to my artistic pursuits. I reconnected with my love of the arts in 1999 when I did clay sculpturing. I started painting in 2009 after attending some art classes with Leanne Carkeet at Ashgrove in Brisbane.My enjoyment of painting is to experiment with different mediums from inks, acrylics, varnishes and other miscellaneous applications with empathises on the use of strong colours. I have transitioned from a semi realistic approach to a more intuitive style with subtle messages interwoven into the subject matter. These messages are more about the beauty and frailty of our planet whether it is in the form of a garden, landscape or seascapeMy interest is to paint a series of similar painting styles until I’m ready to move onto another fresh idea. Learning new techniques and exploring ways to achieve different effects is what drives my love of painting.I live in Brisbane Queensland Painting is my meditation as it takes me to a place of calm and nurtures my soul.
