I often walk the tidal landscape of my local beach, I love being immersed in nature and am drawn to the colours, textures, shapes and forms found in nature. I love the dead trees found on the beach. Whether standing or fallen they become natures sculptures being formed by the weather and the sea. From a distance they look grey and lifeless but on closer inspection they are detailed, changing and full of colour and new life. Their forms conjure other images for me, and I am drawn into another world or time. They are a reminder of the passing of time, and they hold history in their changes.
