Artwork Description

My first piece has gone off to a Sunshine Coast company who produces diaries and associated merchandise and is currently in print, I'm pretty excited to see my work represented on this merchandise. This piece is very similar, I couldn't help myself as I thoroughly enjoyed doing the first one. It's an intuitive abstract, this is where I just listen to pink's music whilst I'm painting, aiming to express the musicality of the artist. There will be more like this (when I can actually find some time).
If you would like to have a look please message me so we can organise this.

Artist Bio

Penny Dodman has been painting for almost 25 years and has won numerous awards during her first 5 years of painting including the most exciting for her, a finalist in the Fleurieu Biennale. These last 20 years however, has been spent in a job that required a lot of work at home. This has meant that she was only able to produce about 1 piece a year but now, she is very excited to be working full-time as an artist.
Penny Dodman's favourite work is fast and colourful, generally in acrylics on large canvases, she likes to reinvent these works as much as possible by continually layering colour and adding texture with lots of detail under each layer. Also what she likes to do is to paint our beautiful Australian landscape in oils. Sometimes they are quite traditional and often a play on light. Penny also loves Australian Impressionism so she is am currently honing her skills in this style.
Penny is available for commissions and will work towards developing your artwork with your criteria in mind. She likes to work in a variety of styles so it is difficult to describe  but one could almost say that colour and light is often quite significant in her work. The above images are examples of two most recent commissions.
