Cocktails at the Quay

This is not my usual subject for a painting, but, after a long day of Christmas shopping in the Sydney CBD, I found myself enjoying a cocktail at a restaurant at Circular Quay just as the Friendship Ferry docked. It was a particularly great moment as we have been friends for over 50 years. I had to try to capture it on canvas.

My background as an Interior Decorator greatly influences my paintings and often fabrics and decorative items will feature in my work. I love to experiment with challenging colour combinations rather than settling for obvious choices although my desire to achieve balance and harmony in every painting is always my priority.
