The Australian Galah is a wonderful character. They are crazy, colourful and curious. But very much the trouble makers and dare devils. Always swirling and diving in crazy patterns through traffic.

They have a wonderful sound when they are talking to each other. I love to listen to them chattering away to each other while they are eating grass seeds from the local fields.

Penny Matchett is an emerging Contemporary Australian Artist from NSW who draws inspiration from her childhood and the joys of the surrounding environment. Penny is captivated with the shapes and colours in the natural environment and focuses on the beauty she sees in Australian native flora and fauna.

Penny’s work combines the use of loose, vibrant colours with sharp, structured lines representing the fluidity and unsettled state of the natural environment.
