Dark Rose, Crimson

Deep crimson and near-black pool at the top, softening through burgundy and plum before dissolving into pale blush and cream at the base. Up close the texture is extraordinary, each form hand-painted with quiet precision. From a distance, the piece reads as pure, considered colour.

A bold but refined work for a living room, bedroom or statement wall. The crimson-to-blush palette works beautifully against dark walls, timber joinery and soft furnishings.

I'm Penelope Slaney, known to most as Penny. I create large-format, texture-heavy acrylic paintings built to transform the rooms they live in.

Each piece is hand-built through layers of acrylic gel and acrylic on canvas, a considered, unhurried process that results in surfaces that shift in natural light and carry real physical presence. My work is never rolled or reproduced. Every painting is a single, original work.

I'm drawn to the idea that our surroundings shape how we feel. My paintings are designed to bring warmth, depth and life to a space, versatile enough to sit in almost any room, distinctive enough to define it.

I work from my studio in Australia and ship nationally and internationally. Commissions are open and every commission begins with a conversation about your space, its light, and what you want it to feel like.
