Artwork Description

Taken in an unworldly landscape like nothing I’d seen before - Valle De La Luna in the Atacama Desert, Chile.

I spent the day push biking and hiking around this place until I reached the end of the trail and realised how much I couldn’t be bothered to bike back to town in the heat. I flagged down the next ute, driven by two lovely Spanish ladies, and chucked the bike in the tray. They ended up taking me an hour out of town to another surreal place I wouldn’t have been able to access otherwise. We watched the sunset together overlooking the desert, then later parted ways.

Artist Bio

Growing up on acreage in rural New South Wales, I often spent my afternoons after school wandering around the countryside on pushbike or foot, capturing the landscape with my Dad’s film tape camera and experimenting with basic video editing programs. Not knowing at the time, this was later to become the foundation for a passion for landscape photography. With a strong desire to immerse myself in the art and music scene, I relocated to Melbourne to pursue a dream of film. During my studies of a Bachelor of Film & Television at Swinburne University in Melbourne, I became intrigued with the aerial perspective, seizing any opportunity to capture photography from the sky.Progressively over the university course, I naturally gravitated away from film and closer to photography. I worked professionally in the field of aerial photography in Melbourne, and after a long stint, I decided to pursue a lifestyle of travel instead. In recent times my focus has been primarily on capturing photography from my travels for fine art prints. My artistic style continues to develop as I find my niche and which aspects of photography I enjoy the most. Generally, my work showcases landscapes in its powerful form, with a limited presence of people and/or animals. Visually I am attracted to symmetry, shapes, and patterns.
