Artwork Description

This drawing was a study made with charcoal and pastel pencils on a linen board. The title “Clarity” refers to the bling on her finger and the diamond pattern of the teacup along with the clarity of mind that comes from a good cup of tea. The artwork is varnished and presented in a bespoke frame, ready to hang.
“Clarity” was a gallery finalist in the Brisbane Rotary Art Show 2024

Artist Bio

Peta Harvey is a Brisbane-based scientist with a not-so-secret life as an artist. After studying Ceramics at the Australian National University’s School of Art, her creative energy is now focused on developing drawing skills and exploring the freshness and spontaneity of ink and watercolour painting, often in combination with pen or pencil.

Peta exhibits frequently in group shows and has been selected for a variety of curated exhibitions. Most notably, she has been a finalist with her portraits and figurative works in the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize 2022, Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award (2020-2023, 2026) with a Highly Commended award in 2021, Bluethumb Art Prize 2022, and Revival Art & Design Emerging Artist Prize 2023-2024.
