Artwork Description

This monochromatic charcoal drawing tells a story of strength and vulnerability intertwined. For example, the lace dress and flower crown atop her head, hinting at femininity and softness, contrast the intensity and purpose of her gaze. Stare into her eyes and contemplate the intricate stories she holds within.
The artwork is custom framed in a white timber frame.

Artist Bio

Peta Harvey is a Brisbane-based scientist with a not-so-secret life as an artist. After studying Ceramics at the Australian National University’s School of Art, her creative energy is now focused on developing drawing skills and exploring the freshness and spontaneity of ink and watercolour painting, often in combination with pen or pencil.

Peta exhibits frequently in group shows and has been selected for a variety of curated exhibitions. Most notably, she has been a finalist with her portraits and figurative works in the Ravenswood Australian Women’s Art Prize 2022, Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award (2020-2023) with a Highly Commended award in 2021, Bluethumb Art Prize 2022, and Revival Art & Design Emerging Artist Prize 2023-2024.
