Peta has always been creative and was encouraged to pursue her creativity. She sat for hours with her grandmother sewing, making things from clay and drawing. Growing up on and around the ocean, she was inspired to use this as her conceptual development for her artworks.
Working mostly with clay and mixed media, Peta’s work reflects ocean life above and below the waters surface.
In more recent times, her art has taken a shift, developing textiles, working with pattern, design and product development.
She has quickly mastered the technology to transition artworks into designs that keep the integrity of the painting/drawing but are suitable for textiles and homewares.
Peta works as a visual art lecturer at Central Regional TAFE and teaches many workshops, sharing her skills to enable other artists to do what they love.
