We called this abstract painting "Islands in the Bay" because the gold creates a beautiful contrast to the blue much like the contrast of sand and the ocean on many a coastline.
This painting is an endless discovery of patterns and interest with layers of colour creating a depth through Pete's signature Mosaic Method!
"Islands in the Bay" is a contrast of tonal metallic copper, gold , and various metallic golds and white gold colours creating an impressionistic view of ocean water and sand....with a touch of the outback sands!
The metallic lines of gold and white gold glisten and metallic blue with the changing light. With many of our artworks, the canvas and/or our techniques create different textures! All part of the discovery when viewing our paintings!
