A NOTE from CHRISSY: . I invite you to join me in the delicate dance of transparency and vulnerability this painting portrays as I tell you the STORY BEHIND the PAINTING

“Transparency” may be a 'pete+chrissy' but pete is the sole artist of this great piece!, However it does portray my story as an entrepreneur and my struggles of starting an online business… it isn’t just a static image, it's a reflection of the complexities of our digital age, where authenticity, vulnerability and strength often coexist in the most unexpected ways.
As you consider this amazing painting, I hope you'll see beyond the canvas and into the hearts of those who navigate the online world. “Transparency” captures the essence of our modern struggle, and it is my sincere wish that it resonates with you, not just as a work of art but as a mirror reflecting the challenges and triumphs of our times. In this juxtaposition of strength and vulnerability, let us find a common thread that connects us all, reminding us of our shared humanity and the power of authenticity in an ever-changing digital landscape.

This is a painting Pete has worked on for quite a while… A woman's face, a delicate canvas of vulnerability, hiding beneath a pair of gently clasped hands. It was a portrait that spoke volumes about the intricate dance of transparency in the world of online entrepreneurship, a theme that resonates deeply with the ethos of our digital age.
I couldn't help but be drawn into those eyes – eyes that held a fierce, unyielding gaze, yet somehow conveyed a vulnerability that resonated with my own experiences. The hands that obscured the face seemed like a metaphor for the online world, where entrepreneurs often claim to be "fully transparent." Yet, the reality can be quite different. Are they really letting us see the whole picture, or are they merely offering a carefully curated glimpse behind the veil?
You see, I've been in the realm of entrepreneurship for decades, building a career in relationship marketing that spans 40 years. I've gathered a wealth of knowledge and experience, a treasure trove of insights that could undoubtedly help others strengthen their businesses. But here's the catch: I, too, suffer from that nagging imposter syndrome, that relentless doubt that questions my legitimacy in this online arena.
Much like the woman in the painting, I've learned that it's possible to be both strong and vulnerable simultaneously. My journey as an online entrepreneur has been a tapestry woven with threads of self-doubt and self-assurance, a delicate balance that many of us in this digital world know all too well. We may project confidence, offer guidance, and share our wisdom, yet there's always that nagging voice that whispers, "Are you really enough? Can you truly help others when you're not sure of yourself?" We are often hiding in fear or being criticized one moment then the next moment be fully present because someone needs our help ...
But perhaps that's where the magic lies. Just as the hands in the painting paradoxically conceal and reveal, our vulnerability can be our strength. It's a reminder that behind the polished facades and curated content, there are real people with real doubts and fears. Sometimes an optical illusion! We all have our own unique stories, our own struggles with the likes of imposter syndrome, and our own journeys towards authenticity. I hope you can find your own connection to the emotion of pete's amazing creation!

PS I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that pete is a self taught artist… personally, my jaw drops every time I think of that and see his work.

Artist Bio

PETE + CHRISSY — ARTIST BIO

We are pete + chrissy, contemporary Australian artists creating original abstract works inspired by the movement, energy and natural rhythms of the coastline and earth.
Our work is known for its luminous quality — layers of colour, light and texture interact to create pieces that shift and evolve throughout the day. Collectors often describe our paintings as opalescent and alive in different lighting.

Using our signature “scientartist” approach, we develop and refine our own paint combinations to create depth, cellular detail and organic flow that cannot be replicated. Each piece is the result of both experimentation and control — where art and process meet.

A NOTE ON OUR WORK
¬ Original, one-of-a-kind paintings
¬ Designed to work in both horizontal and vertical orientations
¬ Each piece carries our ‘angelheart’ signature, a small mark representing the connection between artist, artwork and collector
