An artwork influenced by the paintings of Peter Howson. A couple of times a year I’ll attempt to paint a copy or a version of a Peter Howson portrait in order to learn more and more how to paint like my favourite artist

Pete Conroy is an English artist based in Echuca. He focuses his attention on portraits and distortion of the human face and figure. Using traditional techniques mixed with a modern style he paints humans with impossibly stretched facial features and limbs.
Where the shape and structure of his subjects are out of sync with reality he attempts to bring the characters back into the realistic realm with a mix of modern and traditional techniques of oil painting.
