The Greatest

A painting I did really early on in my career. I was recently paralysed from the chest down which included parts of my fingers as well. It’s been a long process to get where I’m at now and even though this type of work doesn’t really appeal to me, it helped as a form of rehabilitation early on in my career.

Pete Conroy is an English artist based in Echuca. He focuses his attention on portraits and distortion of the human face and figure. Using traditional techniques mixed with a modern style he paints humans with impossibly stretched facial features and limbs.
Where the shape and structure of his subjects are out of sync with reality he attempts to bring the characters back into the realistic realm with a mix of modern and traditional techniques of oil painting.
