Artwork Description

Usually clothing in my paintings would be full of colour but …..Sometimes its black and white.
This painting oozes classic beachside cool. The bold composition, with the cropped surfer front and center, immediately pulls you in—it’s like a snapshot from an old Gidget movie. The dude in the foreground, with his relaxed yet confident stance, is the quintessential old school surfer, while the two women in the background add a sense of movement and energy while enjoying the beach.
The landscape palette is pure summer—deep blues, golden sands, and sunlit skin tones that make the whole piece feel warm and alive. The lighting provides strong shadows that give the figures a sculpted, almost cinematic quality. There’s a definite retro vibe here, from the vintage-style swimsuits to the classic surfer aesthetic.
Overall, it’s a stylish, sun-drenched scene that captures the nostalgia of beach culture.
Hope you like it.

Artist Bio

I’m a Melbourne based artist capturing the Sun-Drenched Spirit of the Coast.

My work is a vibrant celebration of beach life—an homage to the sun, surf, and the people who find their rhythm by the ocean. Each piece is an invitation to step into a world where the waves are endless, the light dances on sun-kissed skin, and the colours pulse with energy.

With bold palettes, striking contrasts, and a touch of nostalgia, I try to bring to life the beauty of the coast and the characters who call it home. My artistic influences span the figurative storytelling of Kenton Nelson, the dreamlike compositions of René Magritte, the evocative imagery of Bo Bartlett, and the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat & Reg Mombassa. David Bromley’s distinct style has also shaped my vision, helping me craft an aesthetic that is both contemporary and timeless.

Through my art, I aim to bottle the essence of beach culture—its freedom, its vibrancy, and its ever-changing moods—so that wherever you are, you can always find yourself by the sea.
