Peter Barnes is an Australian artist and marketing consultant. He lives in Adelaide, South Australia.
His work primarily focuses on paintings of Australians in War, a subject in which He is particularly passionate about.
In addition to this, Peter also runs a successful Facebook page documenting war time facts and imagery; bringing awareness, rememberance and discussion.
In the past, Peter achieved senior management and creative positions with advertising agencies in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
His advertising and marketing experience includes working with motor companies, car dealerships, department stores, shopping centres, government departments, casino, hotels, lotteries, charitable organisations, and more.
Advertising agencies he has worked for include: Clemenger Bryson, Ogilvy & Mather, Young & Rubicam and MDA Barr Woodard Cawrse NT. Peter also worked for The Age Newspaper.
As well as painting, Peter is also a songwriter. He is known for authoring the commemorative war song "Can You Hear Australia's Heroes Marching" as well as a state song for South Australia, commissioned by the South Australian Government, titled ‘South Australia – It’s My Home‘.
