Artwork Description

In a tranquil haven where the world feels paused, the paperbark forest captures the essence of serenity.

The canvas is alive with muted greens and blues, inviting viewers into a peaceful sanctuary.
Filtered light streams through the canopy, casting a dappled glow on the rest.
The interplay of light and shadow creates an enchanting atmosphere.

The inspiration for this piece springs from trips to Noosa in QLD where paperbark forests abound the sides of the roads as you approach Noosa.

Th painting is quite large, measuring 91cm X 91cm, unframed with the edges painted white.

Artist Bio

Peter is an Australian artist whose creative journey spans over five decades. With a Diploma of Art and Design completed in the late 1960s, he began a career that would balance both teaching and painting. After becoming a secondary art teacher, he continued to develop as an artist, painting in his spare time while educating the next generation of creatives.
Throughout his career, Peter has sold hundreds of paintings across Australia and Internationally, with works that have found homes in private collections.. He has exhibited in numerous galleries and art shows and was honoured to be an artist-in-residence at Bright Art and Craft Gallery many years ago, a testament to his commitment to the Australian art community.

Though his work spans a range of subjects and styles, Peter is known for using both acrylics and water colours, creating paintings that reflect a personal exploration of form, colour, and texture. Peter has never felt bound to a singular artistic style, instead embracing a more fluid, experimental approach to painting. This open-mindedness has allowed him to adapt and grow as an artist, continually evolving with each new piece.

Now, Peter continues to create art, sharing his passion and vision with the world through a diverse and ever-changing body of work.
