I am an Artist and Art Teacher, living on the Sunshine Coast, with my wife and three children. I moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2005 after living and working in London, and travelling through Europe. Before that, I grew up, studied and taught Art in South Australia.
My paintings are generally abstract and semi-abstract and stem from improvisations and stylisations of the world around me. My work is an exploration of colour, texture, form and dramatic use of line. I draw inspiration from my surrounding and travels throughout the world and from spontaneous sketches. I like bold, bright colours.
I love the freedom that painting provides and enjoy the interplay of overlapping and blending of colours, textures and the dramatic effect that the lines can create.
I utilise both acrylic and oil paints to create the desired effects, producing my work on stretched canvas.
