My work is a love letter to the disappearing charm of small Australian businesses—those once-familiar corner stores, milk bars, and family-run shops that were the heartbeat of every country town. These humble spaces held stories, personality, and a deep sense of place. Today, many have been replaced by impersonal corporate supermarkets, erasing not just the buildings but a way of life that shaped generations.
Through my lens, I seek to preserve the nostalgia and soul of these fading institutions. Each photograph is both a documentation and a quiet act of resistance—a reminder of the value in the local, the handmade, the personal. I’m drawn to the texture of peeling paint, hand-lettered signs, and the quiet dignity of a business that once bustled with community.
