Artwork Description

The proliferation of overhead power lines seems to sum up the story of post war development in Australia. Their ugliness also has a spider-web like beauty and in this artwork the combination of Atomic Cafe and the imminent spread of tract housing to follow the power lines is an indicator of things to come. The Holden panel van driver and figure at the end of the road reflect a separation from the energy and life within the cafe.
