A Country Town

This is my impression of a small country town in the South West of Australia. It is not a representation of a particular town but a creation of my imagination based on my travels through country towns. I had an image in my mind of a small town intersected by a river with older houses and buildings and surrounded by hills full of Karri trees. What I created came very close to the image I had in my head so I was very pleased with the result. It is a peaceful painting with plenty of detail to be interesting for the viewer.

I am largely a self taught artist. Drawing and Painting have followed me through my life. I am influenced by Hockney, Matisse, Katz and Uta Wohlfarth amongst others. I hope to get as many of my paintings on walls as I can. I paint places, things and people around me and images my mind captures. My style is simplistic and naive. I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them.
