Mixed Doubles

I was attracted to the pattern of the white court marking lines and their contrast with the green turf. I painted the players mostly in white tennis clothes to also contrast with then green grass. I painted in my simple naive style.
The painting depicts a typical summer scene of tennis players enjoying a game of mixed double under the summer sun on beautiful green grass.

I am largely a self taught artist. Drawing and Painting have followed me through my life. I am influenced by Hockney, Matisse, Katz and Uta Wohlfarth amongst others. I hope to get as many of my paintings on walls as I can. I paint places, things and people around me and images my mind captures. My style is simplistic and naive.
