Watching the Ships

Riding my bicycle along the coast one day I saw this man sitting down and watching the ships go by. I wondered what he was thinking. I saw the man framed by trees and the ships in the distance and I thought it made an interesting composition. I painted simply without adding too much detail.

I am largely a self taught artist. Drawing and Painting have followed me through my life. I am influenced by Hockney, Matisse, Katz and Uta Wohlfarth amongst others. I hope to get as many of my paintings on walls as I can. I paint places, things and people around me and images my mind captures. My style is simplistic and naive. I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I enjoy creating them.
