As a child I was free to explore the rivers and creeks around our property, this is an homage to those adventures and experiences. Looking back, I think it was these places that fired my imagination and gave me an awareness and respect for the stories of our land. Over quite a few weeks this painting evolved and declared its own story, it is so quiet, so still, there’s not even a breeze, but you still see the ancient marks and hidden vistas. I’m really happy with how the reflections turned out and I love the soft colours. I hope that it resonates with you too; wouldn't it be great to skim a stone across that water!
