Mr Kim Pink is a Teacher at The Hunter School of Performing Art. being a Saxophone player. teacher and a band leader he is always behind the music. I decided to paint him behind the instruments and I also wanted to focus on the mechanical nature of the horns. emphasising the valves and metal. As he posed for the painting and was jamming along to Charlie Bird Parker. I really noticed the Mechanical clanking of valves and wind. So I really wanted to focus on the ‘metal’.
