Peter was born in Sydney Australia to a Norwegian mother and German father in 1964, growing up in Norway he had many artistic influences with his father and uncle both being in the arts, and both being painters and sculptors. Peter was accepted into the Norwegian school of arts but was persuaded by his father (who spent 5 years as a soldier during the war) to instead go the path of medicine as he felt it would be a safer career in case of another war. So Peter Started his professional working life at 15 skipping the 3 years of mandatory technical college and being the youngest person in Norway at the time to start training as a prosthetist (artificial limb maker) where anatomy, psychology and mechanics was a major part of the training. In 1981 Peter returned to Australia and continued his training there.
In 1983 at the age of 19 Peter started a Jewellery manufacturing company, and during his 20 years in this business he sculpted over 3000 jewellery designs that went into production, with over 1 million pieces produced. The business was very successful and was listed twice in the BRWs top 100 fastest growing Australian private companies.
Peter retired from the jewellery business and took up Art professionally in 2000 and had a very successful solo show in Sydney the following year.
Shortly after this Peter moved to the Hunter valley and built a Studio/Gallery on his 10 acre property in Sawyers Gully.
Peter has worked with and created/invented objects from every conceivable raw material including electronics and mechanics. He has a personal understanding and love for most materials and often uses smell and touch to select materials.
“I can hear the timbre of an instrument in my head before it is built, just by smelling and touching the wood”
Peter has been commissioned to create some major murals in the hunter area including the 60 meter long 2 storeys high PCYC mural in cessnock and the main entry mural to the town of Kurri Kurri . Peter has also done several sculptures in the hunter region and also participates in “live” art installations, and as a musician he also perform regularly with his hand made guitars.

In 2017 Peter closed his Gallery in Sawyers Gully and turned the space into a studio workshop, “I needed to decide if I was an artist or a Gallery owner” Peter said.
He is now looking forward to more murals, sculptures exhibitions and commissions.
