Dracaena detail

From a collection of small mixed media works painted on recycled flooring offcuts. Inspired by the overhanging dracaena plants around my apartment block.

Please note this series is painted on recycled materials and as such works are unframed and sizing maybe slightly irregular. This adds to the uniqueness of the work.

Philippa (Pip) Garrard is an artist and illustrator working in Melbourne.

While her illustration work features portraiture and animals, her artwork is heavily inspired by the natural world, particularly botanical elements. She most enjoys working with mixed media, often on wood and even found surfaces. Most recently she is working on a series of small botanical works on flooring offcuts.

Pip lives in a 1960s apartment with her son and her Bowie-eyed whippet Griff (who is a live-in life model).
