I took a leap of faith early in 2024 to leave my job as an engineer to pursue the dream of becoming an artist. I tried to be an adult, working 9 to 5 (a lot of the times even more) commuting for 3 hours, too tired to play with my son after and I didn't like it! There has to be more to life.
Our artist is a child and I feel like I am returning to myself as I explore what I like to paint. My inspirations come from the world around me, I see beauty in my everyday life as I walk to pick up my son, the bark on trees, old historical buildings and homes. I also lived in Japan for 5 years, which was the time that I got back into art as an adult, working with inks and watercolours then. My primary medium now is oil because I always wanted to know what it felt like to paint in the same medium as the old masters and I love how versatile it can be.
My goals for 2025 is to paint larger, paint thicker and really nail down my voice as an artist.
