Artwork Description

I love the earthy scenes of nature and, in particular, bird life. This is an aerial view of a gorgeous bird's nest. Best suited to a home with rustic/country/farmhouse decor.

This is an ink jet print of my previously sold piece done in oil pastels. It comes framed by me in a rustic charcoal/brown timber frame and warm white & grey double mount with clear glass. Framing alone is near the cost of listing price. Please check dimensions as scale shown is an estimate.

Artist Bio

From her very first memories, this artist has been drawn to the mesmerizing world of art & creativity.

She gained some small achievements as a child and went on to have her works displayed in what is now called Art Express, gained & deferred entry into Alexander Mackey school of art, post HSC studies and took private art classes and modules in fine art at Tafe over the years. Life got in the way of fully embracing this innate love of all things pencil, paper, pen and paint.

Now a part time custom picture framer, Christine has dabbled in her artistic pursuits over the years but has finally decided to make a more permanent commitment to this love of drawing and painting that has always travelled within her throughout her life. Prior to this she has sold whimsical pet art inspired by her whippets, gained a few minor awards in competitions and sold some artworks. She once gained a highly commended in the drawing section at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

As a framer she sees a broad variety of art and styles but the most important thing to her is the essence of the work - it does not need to be perfect, nor necessarily complex. If it evokes feelings or memories or sparks joy. If you are drawn to a piece because it resonates with you. You just love it because you do. That piece chose you. Then that is what art is all about.

Christine loves fluid, scratchy linework, and is particularly drawn to the curvy shapes of all things in nature such as animals, birds, rocks, plants /leaves and the human figure.
She has a leaning towards drawing, particularly with pastels & also painting in most mediums.

The journey is still underway. The adventure is in the process!
