Artwork Description

Drifting Inward explores the space between presence and memory. A simplified floating portrait emerges from a softly layered ground, creating a quiet atmosphere of reflection and emotional stillness. Through reduction and restraint, the work invites viewers to pause and consider the inner landscapes we carry with us.

Artist Bio

Pip is a Scottish–Australian contemporary artist based on Victoria's Surf Coast.

Working primarily in acrylic, her practice sits between contemporary figurative painting and surrealist ideas. Figures often appear isolated or paired within restrained compositions, where posture and placement suggest connection, distance and quiet tension. Landscapes are reduced and abstracted through layered texture and controlled colour, with subtle disruptions that hint at place rather than define it. Pip holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts from Deakin University and paints from her home studio on the Surf Coast.

Her recent work continues to explore psychological states through altered scale, ambiguous space and restrained colour, where the everyday shifts towards the surreal.
