My earliest art memories were in kindergarten, when my teacher praised my painting in front of the group while I felt a sense of guilt because I didn’t feel like I had tried very hard. Another where I watched my mother get the paints out and realise she could create an image from just a few brush strokes. It ignited something in me.
While studio arts remained a firm favourite subject all through high school I was always told the opportunities in the arts when school ended were minimal. I, of course, thought why would I ever be the lucky one.
I became constantly confounded by trying to choose a career for many years finally finding my way back to art in my late twenties.
Now the choices go on, as I find myself constantly dappling in different art genres, focussing mostly on painting with some mixed media components. Still life, landscapes and abstracts tend to be where you will see me.
With a casual line of postcards, prints, stickers and accessories are one area of focus, the other is a love of larger more detailed pieces of wall art for a beautifully aesthetic home filled with colour.
