My art is your art.
I love to share images that people can find their own relatable stories in. Maybe it’s a memory, or a story that you see forming in the work. I love how people see their own images when viewing a work.
So thank you for sharing your thoughts with me by looking! Please message me if you feel like sharing your memories or thoughts!
I'm a Western Australian born artist with a love for painting realist turquoise seascapes and tanned figures in nostalgic semi-abstract coastal settings . I have been drawing life like images since I was about 7….they were mainly trees, buildings and celebrities back then ;)
My figurative works show Australians engrossed in outdoor pursuits. I’d like to promote a shift back to being active, healthy and in a state of natural flow.
I’d like to counteract images of sedentary, material and tech based lifestyles.
I care about our native flora and fauna and worry a lot about what we are doing to it. I support environmental and animal protection where I can.
I have always had a love for the often perceived simplicity of the 1950s-70s. I long for simpler times and you may see some retro visuals such as midcentury architecture creep into my work.
You may also see some botanicals, still lifes and fauna pop up!
My seascapes and figurative works may provide the collector with calming, colourful and nostalgic holiday vibes that have the power to enrich both corporate and home environments.
Sometimes the works provide part of a narrative filled with intrigue, for the viewer to ponder, like a choose your own adventure.
Having grown up on the West Australian coast Ive spent many years on the beach (and in the bush) ..playing with my big brother within view from the kitchen window, to holidaying at Rotto, to living and surfing at Quinns, Trigg, Scarborough, Cottesloe and Margaret River, lifesaving at North Cott and swimming for West Coast Swim Club ...WA waters are a constant inspiration.
I will not rest until I have explored these themes to the end...which could take another 50years.. which makes your investment in my art a safe bet ;) I imagine an art funded retirement in 25 years filled with painting around the Australian coast.
Some very successful artists have predicted a large increase in the value of my work in years to come, I do hope so..so I can keep doing what I am mad (literally) about!
